2014 – The Second Season

During the 2013-14 winter several projects got underway. Ben built a root cellar in the garage. The farm was blessed in early spring with the arrival of the gift of a new-to-Pachamama Massey Ferguson 50 tractor.

In April  the half acre that had been planted in a buckwheat cover crop in 2013 was cultivated and a new field was created, doubling the size of the production field to a full acre. While waiting for seeds to germinate Ben kept busy with more building and engineering projects, working to increase harvest efficiencies. Finally after a cold, wet spring the season was underway with twice as many CSA shareholders arriving for the first pick up on June 24.

Here’s the story of the season in photos.
