Last week the Daily Messenger of Canandaigua featured us in an article about young farmers and the aging generation of farmers nationwide. We live in a state that has seen a 14 percent growth of farmers under the age of 35, yet the national growth of young farmers is still only at 1 percent. While we feel we have a blossoming community of young farmers in the area surrounding Monroe and Ontario counties, many regions nationwide do not have such fortune. The article briefly describes this trend, while featuring us and our neighbor Denis Lepel of Lakestone Family Farm. Read it here!
Tip is so photogenic!…Today we were included in an article in the Democrat & Chronicle about local CSAs. Karen Miltner wrote a piece explaining the concept of Community Supported Agriculture, which listed over forty local farms that offer CSA programs. She also featured us in some of the article’s photos. We hope that this whets the palates of potential members, as we are still recruiting for our 2014 season.
You can read the article here, however the print version is way cooler- with nicer photos- so grab a copy if you can.
Thanks to the D & C, way to go print media for spreading the word about sustainable agriculture!
